Edward Warren Davis, 91, husband of the late Carolyn Britton Davis, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017.
Born in Sumter, he was son of the late Waterman J. and Ada Watson Davis. E.W. was a retired electrician, having worked for both Mills Electric Co. and Smith Electric Co. for years, and was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Elaine Miller of Sumter; a son, Warren Davis, Jr. (Karen) of Little Mt.; four granddaughters, Kerri Oxendine (Todd), Amy Partin, Kristin Shealy (Brad), and Haley Miller; a step-granddaughter, Jennifer New; a great-grandson, Britton Cain; and a great-granddaughter, Savannah Hill.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Knowlton, Russell, Thomas, Hubert, and W. J “Dub” Davis; and two sisters, Artemis Thames and Leona Poole.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Reverends Steve McCormick and Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, prior to the service at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Elaine Miller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epworth Children’s Home, P. O. Box 50466, Columbia, SC 29250.
