Obituary of Lillian G. Barnes

Lillian Elise Graham Barnes, 75, wife of James W. Barnes, died Friday, July 8, 2016 at Palmetto Tuomey Health. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Graham and Lille Louise Richardson Graham. She was later adopted by her grandparents, Charles Boyd Richardson and Elise Richardson. Mrs. Barnes was twice married, first to the late William Horton and then to James Barnes. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church and a former member of Eason Memorial Church. Surviving are her husband of Bishopville; two daughters, Lillian Elizabeth Cribb (Randy) and Jennifer Gayle Welch (Tony) all of Eastover; six grandchildren, Stephen, Betsy, Courtney, Brandon, Taylor and Tommy; six great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Lane, Landon, Aaron, Caleb and Andy. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Hinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be STF SGT Jason Tassone, SGT. Bryan Rulong, CPL Larry Wix, CPL Russell Elmore, Master Firefighter Troy Lamontagne and OFC Tony McCoy, Jr. Memorials may be made to Sumter Relay for Life, 128 Stonemark Lane Columbia, SC 29210.
