Virginia Hussey Drayton, 92, widow of O. B. Drayton, Sr., died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at McElveen Manor. Born March 28, 1923, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Robert Marion Hussey and Rosa Riles Hussey. Mrs. Drayton was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are two daughters, Gloria Blum (Maury) of Florence and Sylvia Andrews (Marvin E. Sr.) of Sumter; three sons, O. B. Drayton Jr. (Sarah) of Columbia, Francis Drayton (Gincey) of Lexington and Charles E. “Eddie” Drayton (Fran) of Sumter; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Marie Elaine Blum, John David Drayton; seven brothers and five sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Dr. Steve Holler, Rev. Angela Marshall and Rev. Stephen Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Hussey, Robert Mitchum, David Mitchum, Rick Hussey, Mike Hussey and Timmy Hussey. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 P.M.
