Obituary of Thelma May Johnson Baker

Thelma May Johnson Baker, 84, wife of Thomas Daniel Baker, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at National Healthcare Center.

 

Born in Wedgefield, she was a daughter of the late Ollie Lester “O.L.” Johnson and May Bell Johnson Johnson.

 

Mrs. Baker was a member of Pinewood Baptist Church.

 

Surviving are her husband of Pinewood; two daughters, Debbie Wilkinson (Paul) of Pinewood and Gayle Baker of Pinewood; a brother, Lamar Johnson (Iris) of Pinewood; two sisters, Rosa Lee Bradley of Sumter and Margaret S. McIntosh of Pinewood; one grandchild, Tommy Wilkinson (Lucy); three great-grandchildren, Maclaren Wilkinson, Owen Wilkinson and Bear Wilkinson; and a sister-in-law, Diane Johnson of Pinewood.

 

She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Johnson.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at Pinewood Baptist Church with Rev. Bennie Barwick officiating.

 

Burial will be in the Pinewood Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Mickey Johnson, Brian Johnson, Rodney Johnson, David Harris, Paul Smith and Dr. Frank Baker. 

 

The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Monday at Pinewood Baptist Church and other times at the home of her sister, Rosa Lee Bradley, 2312 Gingko Drive.

 

The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks for the care that Thelma received at NHC and by Caris Hospice.
