Obituary of Robert Pressly Odom

Robert Pressly Odom, 76, widower of Rosa Lee Shirah Odom, died Sunday, March18, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

 

Born in Barrineau, SC, he was a son of the late Walter James Odom and Janie Welch Odom.

 

Mr. Odom attended Wise Drive Church of the Nazarene and was a retired electrician.

 

Surviving are a son, Robert Odom, Jr. of Sumter; two daughters, Gloria McLeod (Archie) of Sumter and Henrietta Little (Rodney) of Peachtree City, GA; four grandchildren, T.J. Odom (Tammy), Stacy McLeod, Matthew Little (Brittney) and Justin Little; three great-grandchildren, Chelsea Roland, Emily Roland and Kali Roland and a number of nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by a brother, J.W. Welch, three sisters, Mary Williams, Louise Coker and Dorothy Nell Welch.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday at Wise Drive Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Sammy Geddings and Rev. Jamie McElveen officiating.

 

Burial will follow in the Sumter Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Wednesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, 13 Que Street.
