Ruby Catherine Springs Nichols, 86, widow of William Edward Nichols, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at her home. Born in Coward, SC, she was a daughter of the late Clen Springs and Bertha Broach Sims. Mrs. Nichols was a member of the Sumter Freewill Baptist of the Pentecostal Faith Church. She was retired from the Campbell Soup Company. Surviving are four daughters, Gail N. Coker, Dale N. Roark (Bruce), Joyce Nichols Bramlette, and Patti N. McCloud (Glenn) all of Sumter; a sister, Shirley Feagin of Daniel Island; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and her former son-in-law, Ken Coker. She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Nichols and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Chan, Rev. Stacey Floyd and Rev. Jim Tanner officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Patti McCloud, 3330 Butterworth Circle, Sumter.
