William Joseph Montalbano, Jr., 72, widower of Deborah S. Montalbano, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late William J. Montalbano, Sr. and Marjorie Harrison Montalbano. Mr. Montalbano was a member and soldier of the Salvation Army Church and was an avid toy collector. Surviving are a son, Richard William Montalbano (Ashley) of Sumter; 3 daughters, Kimberley Morris (Eric) of Manning, Marjorie “MeMe” Montalbano of Sumter, Nicole James (Reggie) of Sumter; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; one foster daughter, Patricia Atkinson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Montalbano. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Lt. Devin Sassano officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughters, Nicole James, 1180 Malone Drive, Sumter, SC and Kimberley Morris, 263 Manchester Drive, Manning, SC.
