Obituary of Raddin D. McKalsen

Raddin D. McKalsen, age 93, widow of Garnet M. McKalsen, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 2, 2025. Born on August 5, 1931, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Timmons and Retus Pack Timmons. Mrs. McKalsen was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She shared her love and compassion through many years of service in the nursery at First Baptist Church, where caring for infants brought her immense joy. She is survived by her son, Garnet E. McKalsen of the home; her daughter, Pamela G. McKalsen of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and two sisters, Ruby Pringles of Sumter and Carolyn Welch of Manning. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Harrelson, and her brother, Herman Timmons. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne McElveen, officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
