Obituary of Anne Roper

Anne Elizabeth Roper, died Friday, June 20, 2025, at Covenant Place. Born in Marion, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Roper and Mary Emma Vaught Roper. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and Winthrop College. Her graduate studies were at the University of South Carolina and Florida State University. She was a retired music and elementary school teacher in the Sumter City Schools. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Fa Ho Lo Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sara Eugenia Roper of Sumter. Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Covenant Place in the Family Enrichment Center with Rev. Angela Marshall and Rev. Preston S. Shealy officiating. Private burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
