Obituary of William L. Galloway

William “Bill” L. Galloway, 97, widower of Dorothy Massey Galloway, died Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Darlington, he was a son of the late Clifton Ward Galloway and Edith Renfrow Galloway.
Mr. Galloway was a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church. He retired from Equifax Insurance Company in Atlanta, Georgia with 58 years of service. He was a U. S. Army veteran, a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Bill was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Carolina Gamecocks. He loved grocery shopping, cooking and was a loving Dad, Granddad and loved the Lord.
Surviving are a son, Ronnie Galloway (Anne) of Sumter; two daughters, Patricia Lynne Arnold and Terri Lea Rodriguez (Johnny) all of Sumter; a brother, Renfrow (Renny) Galloway of Greenville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Gayle Galloway.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday at St. Mark’s Methodist Church with Rev. Wes Conner and Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 15 Warren Court.
