Obituary of Norma Jane Walker

Norma Jane Ray Walker, 67, wife of Steven Wayne Walker, Sr., entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born October 9, 1957, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Leon Ray, Sr. and Janie Buckner Ray. Jane was a member of Springbank Baptist Church. She retired from Sumter School District. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, one daughter, Stephanie Jane Craven of Sumter; two sons, Steven Wayne Walker, Jr. and Shane Ray Walker of Sumter; two grandchildren, Dylan Wayne Walker Ryan and Walker Lane Craven. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Ray, Jr. Jane was a loving and dedicated mother, wife, grandmother and friend, always thinking of the needs of others before her own. She delighted in her role as Nanny. Her friends and family will miss her humor, strength, and care, but we find comfort in precious memories and knowing she is rejoicing with her Savior, free from all suffering and sorrow. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Springbank Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Saturday at Springbank Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey French, Jonathan French, Daniel Benenhaley, Dustin Allison, Wesley Walker and Jack Buckner.
