Obituary of John A. Smith, Jr.

John A. Smith, Jr., 82, widower of Gloria Price Smith died, Friday, October 10, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center. Born June 26, 1943, in Sumter. He was a son of the late John A. Smith Sr., and the late Marian Newman Smith. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a retired electrical contractor with KMB Electric Company. He is survived by a daughter, Angela Marie Tidwell (Terry) of Sumter; a sister, Frances Marion Funderburke of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Summer Hill (Mike) and Zachary Tidwell. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Moore officiating.
