Obituary of George Joseph Guldan

George Joseph Guldan, 77, beloved husband of 53 years to Susan “Susie” Sowdon Guldan, died Monday, November 3, 2025, at MUSC Medical Center in Charleston.

 

Born in Summerton, SC, he was the son of the late Earl Andrew Guldan and Billie Duke Guldan.

 

Mr. Guldan was a retired real estate appraiser serving Sumter and surrounding communities for 48 years.  He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he played as a freshman on the basketball team.  He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and was an avid Gamecock fan.  He will always be remembered as a devoted husband and father.

 

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Dr. George Joseph “G.J.” Guldan III (Melissa) and Bradley “Brad” Shelton Guldan (Brittany); two grandchildren, Shelby Guldan Westmoreland (Cory) and Tucker Jay Guldan; one great-grandchild, Adalyn Gray “Addie” Westmoreland.

 

Private graveside services will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery in Summerton, SC.
