Obituary of Donald Bradford Brettelle

Donald Bradford Brettelle, 80, widower of Linda Bradford Brettelle, died Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his home.

Born in Aurora, IL, he was a son of the late Donald Lester Brettelle and Gharnece June Nelson Brettelle.

Mr. Brettelle was a retired U. S. Army Vietnam veteran and a recipient of two Purple Hearts.  He later retired from CP Chemical Company.  He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.

Surviving are five brothers, Ernest Hatfield (Barb), Billy Hatfield, Mike Brettelle, Jack Brettelle (Kristy) and Gus Brettelle; three sisters, Nikki Burton, Elaine Ruighaver, and Vicki Geddings (Ronald) and his friend, Elvin Rogers. 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Brettelle. 

Graveside Services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Florence National Cemetery with Pastor Larry Hummel officiating and with military honors.
