Obituary of Robert "Bobby" Ray Simpson

Robert “Bobby” Ray Simpson, 72, husband of Vicki J. Fisher-Simpson, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland.

 

Born December 30, 1953, in Camden, South Carolina he was a son of the late Carl M. Simpson, Jr. and Frances Ray Simpson.

 

Bobby was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Although a lifelong Carolina Gamecock fan, he was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business and met his wife Vicki, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. A dedicated and hardworking businessman, he owned and operated Simpson Savannah Hardware on Pinewood Road for 40 years. He continued working in the family hardware business until his death, a testament to his strong work ethic and deep commitment to his family and community. Above all else, his true pride and joy was found in his three daughters and four grandchildren, whom he loved very much.

 

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Ashley Simpson (Edward), Caroline Simpson Sirignano (Kyle) and Larkin Simpson; two sisters, Jan Simpson King (George) and Anne Simpson; a sister-in-law, Cathy Simpson; four grandchildren, Zaiya Porter, Sawyer Simpson, Crew Sirignano and Stella Frick.

 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl M. Simpson, III.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday, February 9, 2026, in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Scott Landrum officiating.

 

Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 PM – 4 PM and Monday following the funeral at 113 Snowden St.
