Obituary of Virginia (Jenny) Dare Hall

Virginia (Jenny) Dare Hall, 84, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, due to injuries sustained from an auto accident.  Jenny passed at Prisma Richland Hospital, Columbia, SC with family by her side.

She was born February 21, 1941, in Buckingham County, VA, to her parents James Franklin Jackson & Mary Virginia Boatwright Jackson.

Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Franklin Jackson, III, her nephew Thomas J. Jackson & husband Jack Walker Hall.

Jenny, also known to many as Grammy, was a retired Manager of Service Int. Funeral Corp. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, & visiting with friends & family.  She loved her lunches out, especially with her dear friend Judy Hall.  Her hospitality was extended to all who met her; she was a sweet, loving soul.

Grammy spent most of her life in Gaithersburg, MD, where she raised her 3 children.  In 2020, she moved to Sumter, SC.  Surviving are her children, John A. Brewer (Sharon), Richmond, VA, Lisa Brewer, No. VA, & Susan Brewer Weston (Gene) Sumter, SC, 6 grandchildren, Summer, Virginia Dare, Mary, Thomas, Amelia (fiancé Matthew) & Isabelle.  Her beloved grand dogs Riggs & Buffy.

Memorial Services will be held at 4:30pm Monday February 16, 2026, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church 107 E Liberty Street, Sumter, SC 29150.  Family will receive friends in the church parlor from 3:00pm to 4:30pm on the day of service, February 16, 2026.
