Obituary of Clara Vivian Fisette

It is with great sadness that the family of Clara Vivian Fisette, 87, announce her passing on March 16, 2026 at the home of her daughter.

 

She was born on November 13, 1938, in St. Joseph Louisiana to William & Annie McMichael.

 

She lived in Lake Charles Louisiana for 70 years and retired from Kroger’s then relocated to Sumter, South Carolina. 

 

Clara was very outgoing and loved exploring and going on adventures. Her family and traveling with her husband were her two biggest passions. She is known for her infectious laughter and warm smile. Her kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. 

 

Clara is the mother of Inez & Richard Powell of Iowa, La., Carol Baccigalopi of Iowa, La., Patrick & Leisha Bourque of Sulphur, La., Marijo & Joseph Cole Jeffersonville, In., Margaret & Albert Theriot, Iowa, La. She was so proud of all her “grands” which was great in numbers, 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband’s Carl Bourque and Eston Cole of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Robert Fisette of Sumter, South Carolina, eleven siblings and multiple nieces and nephews.

 

Clara’s Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM Monday, March 30, 2026 at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery beside her husband Sergeant First Class Robert Fisette.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL or to the Purple Heart Veterans Association P.O. Box 3381, Sumter SC 29150.
