Joseph “Joe” Foster Boyle, 72, husband of Mary Donald Brinkley Boyle, passed away Thursday April 30th, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late Charlie Rowland Boyle, Jr. and Joe Anne Foster Boyle.

Mr. Boyle was a graduate of Wilson Hall School. Leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty and deep friendship. Joe was a devoted husband to Mary Don. Together, they enjoyed a life full of joy and laughter, they had a lot of fun along the way. He was a proud father to his children and their spouses, Foster and Jessica, Beth and J.W. A grandfather known as “Big Joe”, to his grandchildren, Vinny & Mary Mac.

Joe had a gift for friendship and connection. He had the best friends in the world and they know who they are! Whether they were his golf buddies, happy hour buddies, or lifelong friends, he valued those relationships deeply. Some of those friends have gone before him, whom he always loved. Known by many as the life of the party, Joe liked bringing people together he enjoyed having friends over sitting on the deck listening to music. He was an exceptional cook, earning the nickname “Hopsing” for his skills in the kitchen. No matter how long a visit lasted, he never let anyone leave without walking them all the way out. He loved sports, especially golf trips with his buddies and alongside his siblings Bo and Gena, he was a loyal Clemson fan.

In his professional life, Joe was an entrepreneur who owned and operated a HouseMaster franchise for over thirty years. He was considered a forerunner in home inspections in South Carolina and took great pride in the business he built. He also invested in others along the way, mentoring young people and helping them grow in their own career. Joe worked hard and valued progress. Joe always called it the way he saw it.
