Obituary of Daniel A. Holladay

Daniel A. Holladay, 81, widower of Patricia Jackson Holladay died on May 25, 2026, at Prisma Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Manning, SC, he was the son of the late David D. Holladay and Myrtle Baker Holladay.                                  

Mr. Holladay attended Pinewood Baptist Church and was the former owner and operator of the City Shoe Shop in Sumter. He was an avid coon hunter, and he had a great love for telling jokes. He had one…or two for EVERYONE! He spent his life talking about the lord. His favorite saying was “trust in the good Lord and don’t look back.”

He is survived by his daughter Angela Chavis (Brian); son Daniel A. Holladay Jr.; three grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Holladay, Jerry Holladay; three sisters Elaine Donaldson, Peggy Thomason, Gayle Holladay; his former wife Bessie Mae Holladay.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 P.M.  Saturday June 13, at Pinewood Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Gray officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
