Obituary of William R. "Bill" Brewer

William R. “Bill” Brewer, Jr., 82, widower of Ann Burress Brewer, died Friday, July 3, 2026, at Sumter Health and Rehab.

Born May 8, 1944, in Steele, Missouri. He was a son of the late William Brewer and Laura Nell Burton Brewer.

Mr. Brewer was a U. S. Air Force veteran and was a retired long distance truck driver. He attended Oasis Church in Sumter.

Surviving are a sister, Ida Gant and her husband Gary of Alamogordo, NM; two nephews, Gary Gant, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas and Gregory Gant of Collinsville, Oklahoma; special friends Gene Ardis and Tom & Patti Hall.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Brewer, and former wife Barbara Geddings Brewer.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Howell officiating.

Burial will be in the Pinewood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM till 11 AM at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory.
