Obituary of Alice Osborne

Please share a memory of Alice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Alice Lucielle Garrett Osborne, widow of Charles “Chuck” Thomas Osborne passed away Monday, July 27, 2026, at her home.

Alice was born in Sumter, SC on April 11, 1950, to the late Harry William Garrett and Lorene Young Garrett. Alice was a graduate of the Edmunds High School class of 1968. She was also a long time member of Harmony Church and a faithful servant to their bereavement committee. Alice’s faith was an integral part of her life and she lived a life devoted to Christ and His word.

On September 10, 2022, Alice lost Chuck, her husband of 51 years. She is survived by her two children Brandon Garrett Osborne and Sara Osborne Trepoy (Frankie), both of Sumter. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Caleb Austin Osborne and Anna Grace Osborne. Gigi (as she was lovingly known) loved Caleb and “G” more than words can say. They were her absolute heart and the apple(s) of her eye(s). Over the past few years, Alice was given the opportunity to develop an extremely special relationship with Cash Lee. In a way, Cash was an “adopted” grandchild. The fulfillment and purpose she felt spending time with Cash and helping care for him was something so precious to her.

Alice loved her family unconditionally and was a kind, caring, giving light in this world. To say she will be missed is an understatement. She is leaving a space in this world that no one will fill. “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living my mother you’ll be.”

A celebration of Alice’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 11:00am at Harmony Church with Rev. Dan Keaton, Rev. Drew Choate, and Rev. Lee Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Alice’s name to Tunnels to Towers or the South Carolina Autism Society.
