Obituary of Cecil Mitchum

Cecil Mitchum, Sr., 72, husband of Sandra Ann Mitchum, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at his home. Born October 12, 1949, he was a son of the late Gertrude Mitchum Coker. He was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God Church and was a self-employed contractor. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Cecil Mitchum, Jr. and Jimmy Bowick; three daughters, Melanie Bowick, Lydia McKelvy and Tina Pettis (Marquiet); two brothers, Rubin Mitchum and Gene Smoak; one sister, Darlene Parks; sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. ` Memorial Services will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at his home from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M. Saturday. All attendees are asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
