Obituary of Rev. Stephen McCormick

Rev. Stephen McDaniel McCormick, 70, husband of Patricia “Tricia” McManama McCormick, died Thursday, February 15, 2024, at his home. Born in Conway, he was a son of Ida Perry McCormick and the late Pritchard McDaniel McCormick. Rev. McCormick retired in 2019 after 37 years of service as a United Methodist pastor in the SC United Methodist Conference. He served most recently Bethel United Methodist Church from 2004-2008 and also Lewis Chapel United Methodist. He was active in the Salkehatchie Summer Service Program, the United Methodist Volunteers In Mission and the Kairos Prison Ministry. Surviving are his wife; his mother; two daughters, Jennifer M. Braeunig (Jeff) and Justine M. Mullinnix (Jeremy); three sisters, Virginia McCormick, Judy McCormick and Cathy Runyon; 10 grandchildren, Luke McCormick, Thomas McCormick, Henry McCormick, Margaret Ann McCormick, Charles Braeunig, Caroline Braeunig, Phillip Braeunig, Liam Mullinnix, Jake Mullinnix and Landon Mullinnix. He was preceded in death by a son, Major Joseph McDaniel McCormick. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph James officiating. The family will receive friends in the Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall following the service.
