Obituary of Earl Wesley Schultz

Earl Wesley Schultz, 79, husband of Patricia McCall Schultz, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. Born in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late James R. Schultz and Ruby Rippy Schultz. Mr. Schultz was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he was a Deacon Emeritus. He was a retired U. S. Air Force SMSgt. with 31 years of service. He also retired from the Dorn VA Hospital. He was very active with United Ministries and was a member of American Legion Post 15. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Keith Schultz (Ann) of Sumter, Ross Schultz (Marla) of ID; one daughter, Laytreda Schultz of ID; a half-brother, Boyd Schultz of NC; three grandchildren, Michael Schultz (Kara), Tiffany Hudson (Bert), Nicole Schultz; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Hudson, Alexander Hudson and Micaela Schultz; a daughter-in-law, Magda Schultz Thomas; and his beloved dog, Zowie. He was preceded in death by a son, James Wesley Schultz. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stuart Mizelle officiating. Burial will follow in the Sumter Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Monday in Westminster Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
