Obituary of Mary Smith Beck

Mary Smith Beck, 74, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at her home. Born in Turbeville, she was a daughter of the late Major V. Smith and Bertha B. Mizell Smith. Mrs. Beck was twice married, first to the late SSgt. Porter R. LeBlanc, Sr. and later to the late Thomas J. Beck. She was a member of Lakeside Outreach Ministries. She was a retired school registered nurse. Surviving are three daughters, Joyce Olesen (Lewis Huggins), Patricia Evans (Allen), Alicia LeBlanc (C.J. Evans); a son, Bob LeBlanc (Beverly); a step-daughter, Vicki Kohle (Jeff); two step-sons, Thomas Beck and Gary Keaton; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter; one sister and three brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 4:30 P.M. Sunday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Griffin, Rev. Mitch Towery and Rev. Kevin Cribb officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Caples, Charles Smith, III, Bryan LeBlanc, Bobbie Jewell, Charles Smith, Jr., Jason Keaton, Robert Watford and C.J. Evans. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2206 Bethel Church Road.
