Obituary of Kate Clark

Katharina “Kate” Clark, 93, of Sumter, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at her home.

 

Kate was born in Mittelbaar, Germany to Nikolaus and Helena Büchel Schlich.  She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Sumter.

 

Kate met and married her husband Dale in Germany and together they had five sons; Nick (Michelle), Mike (Camy), Jim (Kathy), John (Anne) and Tom (Ella); ten grandchildren; Josh, Jesse, Bryan, Dylan, Justin, Kirstin (Joseph Brown), Ryan (Jenny), Katie, Maddie, Eddie and one great grandchild Addisyn.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sister.

 

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 AM at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home on Friday with the funeral following at 11:00 am at St. Anne Catholic Church. 

 

Burial will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery.

 

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to St. Anne Catholic Church, 216 E. Liberty Street, Sumter, SC 29150.

 

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Kate’s caregivers; her dearest friend Bea, and Diana, Patsy, Ms. Pat, Sue, Mary, all of the home health and hospice caregivers, fellow St Anne parishioners, Deacon  Kulungowski and Ms. Denise Spivey.  We could not have done it without the love, gentle touch, and caring attitude shared by each of you and so many others.
