Jerry Eugene Cromer, Sr., 82, widower of Billie Faye Hayes Cromer, died Thursday, May 16, 2019 at McLeod Health Hospital in Florence.

 

Born in Charleston, he was a son of the late William Lawrence Cromer, Sr. and Beulah Jackson Cromer.

 

Mr. Cromer was a member of Grace Baptist Church.  He was a graduate of Edmunds High School and a U. S. Army veteran.  He was the former owner and operator of Cromer’s Appliance.

 

Surviving are two sons, Jerry Eugene Cromer, Jr. of the home and Perron (Nancy) Cromer of Sumter; a brother, William Lawrence Cromer, Jr. (Earline) of Sumter; four grandchildren, Nancy Hayes Owens (Ansel), Virginia Cromer, Perrin Marie Cromer and Rebecca Cromer all of Sumter; one great-grandchild, Addison Pruitt Owens; two nephews, Patrick Cromer (Melissa) and Larry Cromer (Debbie) of Sumter and a number of other special nephews and friends.

 

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Ron Bower officiating.

 

The family will receive friends following the graveside services and other times at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Perron Cromer, 10 Pathfinder Drive, Sumter.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
