Obituary of Roland Clifton Russell, Jr.
Roland Clifton Russell, Jr., 77, husband of 58 years to Ann Bradford Russell, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the home of his daughter.
Born in Charleston, he was a son of the late Roland Clifton Russell, Sr. and Hazel Osborne Russell.
Mr. Russell was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church and the Progressive Club. He was a former employee of Kneece Tractor Company and was retired from Farmers Telephone Company. He was a
U.S. Army veteran and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Timothy Russell (Stacee) of Sumter and Bobby Russell (Tracy) of Bluffton; two daughters, Carol Russell of Sumter, Laura Russell Evans (fiancé Daryle Skey) of Sumter; three sisters, Sara Russell Browning of Irmo, Nancy Russell Baker (Claude) and Joyce Russell Sanders (James) all of Sumter; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Barry Russell, Paul Russell; two sisters, Barbara Russell and Brenda Russell.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Crosswell Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Owens officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Seekers Sunday School class, Frank Holloway, Tommy Rogerson and Steve Howell.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Crosswell Baptist Church and other times at the home of his daughter, Laura Evans, 753 Fawn Circle.
