Obituary of Helen Ethel Ellis
Helen Ethel Ellis, 76, widow of Lawrence Nolan Ellis, died Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
Born in Bennington, VT., she was a daughter of the late Leroy S. Oldham and Helen L. Barber Oldham.
Mrs. Ellis was a member of First Baptist Church. She considered her church family, widowed lady friends and patrons of Helen’s Household Cleaning service as members of her family,
Surviving are one daughter, Tammy Fielding (Lee) of VT; two sons, Scott J. Ketchum (Sis) and James H. Ketchum all of Sumter; one brother, Thomas Oldham (Mary) of Cambridge, NY; 9 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Irving “James” Ketchum; one sister, Jenny McKinney; two brothers, Buddy Oldham and Richard Oldham; one step-son, Matthew Ellis.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Barber officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Monday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
