Obituary of Jeanne Papucci

Jeanne Papucci, 68, wife of Orlando “O.J.” Papucci, to whom she was married for 47 years, passed away suddenly Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Prisma Health Heart Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Danville, KY, October 22, 1951, she was the birth daughter of the late Velda Rose and Elmer Watson. Mrs. Papucci was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to her husband’s family. Married to her husband “O.J.” March 25, 1972, she was by his side, living in multiple locations during his military service. In June of 2000, Sumter became their home. She was employed by Palmetto Security Company. According to a child of one employee, Jeanne’s job was to “take care of my Dad at work.” Jeanne always tried to take care of anyone she knew in the best possible way for she had the ability to make everyone feel comfortable, loved, and welcomed. Her greatest achievement and lasting-legacy was her salvation with the Lord Jesus Christ. It was His love that flowed through her heart. She was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Anthony “Tony” Papucci, Marc Papucci (Anna); one brother, Ted Watson (Linda); a sister-in-law, Carlene Watson; four grandchildren, Dante, Destiny, Kylie and Jackson Papucci, and her Dad, Gary Anderson She was preceded in death by a son, David and a brother, Elmer Watson. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Jock Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in the Sumter Cemetery.
