Murr Hall Brown 93, widower of Patricia Wilson Brown, died peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Prisma Tuomey Hospital. Born in Sumter, November 23, 1926, he was a son of the late Robert Tillman Brown, and Mildred Hall Brown. Murr enlisted in the U. S. Navy at the age of 18 and was assigned to the USS Craven as an ammunition loader. After his years of service, he worked as an electrician for Mills Electric Company and later Central Electric Company. He was an active church member at Trinity United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for 52 years. He later attended Mayesville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and was a choir member there as well. Murr married Patricia Wilson in 1952 and is survived by two children, Mull Hall Brown, Jr. of Sumter and Kim Brown Kiser (Sam) of Mayesville; two granddaughters, Margaret Murr Kiser and Patricia Kimmons Kiser both of Rock Hill, SC. He was affectionately known as “Pappie” to many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, William Hall Brown, Mildred Elnora Shaw, Robert Tillman Brown, Jr., Alice Brown Beaty, Betty Brown Cain, Jane Brown Jeffress and Thomas Edward Brown. Based on the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus, out of respect for the welfare of others, there will be no visitation and a private family burial. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church, 226 W.
