Some of my best childhood memories were spent at Pawleys Island with my mother and Godmother "WuWu" (Mary Elizabeth) swimming in the ocean, crabbing at the South End and playing Yahtzee on the porch late at night. Thirty plus years later WuWu taught my son to crab in the same creek - a favorite summer past time and place for us to this day.
WuWu was a sweet and kind person who loved nothing more than being with family and friends. My mom and WuWu had been lifelong friends since middle school and were close until my mother's death in 2018. I know that they're now together, back at Pawleys sitting on the porch enjoying the ocean breeze and reminiscing about all of their wonderful adventures. She was a gentle soul who will definitely be missed.
WuWu and her family are in our prayers. Her memory will be close to our hearts forever.
With Love and Sympathy,
Hellen, Weston and Xan Dekle

I offer my condolences to Mary Elizabeth's family, friends, and Brookdale Senior Living caregivers. Mary Elizabeth and I were teachers together at Parker High School in the late 70's and early 80's. We were not close friends, but I respected her as a colleague. She was a close friend of one of my best buddies at Parker, Candy Colquitt.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Ms Ariail. I had her as a teacher in 1980 and enjoyed being in her psychology class. She made learning fun.
