Betty Lou Johnson Hurley Hunter,84, wife of Alton M. Hunter died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at her home. Born in Bladen County, NC she was the daughter of the late Sidney Albert Johnson and the late Alma Taylor Johnson. Mrs. Hunter was of the Jehovah Witness faith and was retired from the food industry where she owned and operated a restaurant in NC. Surviving are her husband of Sumter, three stepchildren; Kay Walters (Jeff), Alton M. Hunter, Jr. (Debbie) and Terry L. Hunter (Sylvia); three sisters, Mary Miller of Fayetteville, NC, Joyce Kahl (Richard) of Fayetteville, NC and Jean Cheney (John) of Cary, NC; four grandchildren, Heather Savage, Gary Savage (Angie), Brandon Hurley and Justin Klenke (Jasmine); nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son Cliff Hurley and a daughter Denise Savage Jones. Memorial service will be held on Zoom Saturday, August 15 at 2 PM.
