Craig Michael Smith, 58, husband of Kris Player Smith, died Sunday, September 6, 2020, at MUSC Hospital in Charleston.
Born in Savannah, GA, he was a son of the late Charles LaVerne Smith and Caroline JoAnn “Kay” Etchison Smith.
Mr. Smith was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and American Legion Post 140. He was employed as a Real Estate Appraiser with the Sumter County Assessors Office. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of Desert Storm.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Michael Smith; a daughter, Caroline Green Smith all of Lynchburg; a brother, Rev. Todd Smith (Michelle) of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Cheryl Clark (Charlie) of Camden and Michele Southerd (Gary) of Bloomington, IL; a sister-in-law, Paige Moore of Landrum; his in-laws, Al and June Graham of Lynchburg and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1000 Pleasant Grove Road, Lynchburg, SC 29080 with Rev. James Melton and Rev. Todd Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Thursday at the Family Life Center of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lynchburg.
