Alice Ruth Pyles, 80, died Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at her home in Sumter.
Born in Harnett County, NC, she was a daughter of Clyde William Avery and Esther Dixon Avery.
She was a retired inspector with Morganite. She also served in the United States Air Force.
She is survived by a son, Bruce Pyles; 3 daughters, Betty Pyles Geddings, Becky Pyles Lee (James W. Lee, Sr.), Shirley Pyles Bryant (James); 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Catherine Avery Addison, Patsy Avery Williford; a brother, Roy Avery (Nancy); and a 25-year-old cat named Lucky.
Graveside Services will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia.
