Obituary of Mildred Kirby

Mildred E. Kirby, 84, widow of William “Bill” Kirby, died Friday, September 25, 2020, at National Healthcare Center in Sumter. Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late E. A. Dority and Alvia Mae Baker Dority. Mrs. Kirby was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was a former Office Manager at McDuffie Furniture Company. Surviving are two daughters, Sheree Kirby Infinger (Joey) of Alcolu and Connie Kirby of Sumter; six grandchildren, Tracie Mitchell, Mike Kirby, Micah Cox, Dylan Kirby, Tara Edmonds and Chip Infinger; three great-grandchildren, Caydence Mitchell, Coral Infinger and Collins Infinger. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael H. Kirby; two brothers, Robert S. Dority and James H. Dority. Private graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Holley and Rev. Tommy Atkinson officiating. Memorials may be made to NHC-Sumter Activity Department, 1018 N.
