Obituary of Boots Medlock

Jennie “Boots” Thompson Medlock, 82, wife of Gene Autry Medlock, died Monday, September 28, 2020, at Langston Place in Clinton, SC. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late John W. Thompson and Sara Newman Thompson. Mrs. Medlock was a retired nurse at Whitten Village. Surviving are two sons, David Mobley (Marie) of Sumter and John Mark Mobley (Melanie) of Chicago, IL; a brother, John W. Thompson (Linda) of Sumter; a sister, Mary Dozier Turner (Linwood) of Mayesville; a number of nieces and nephews; and a number of stepchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, James E. Thompson. Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. Thursday in Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
