James Walter Carter, 73, husband of Lucy Puglia Carter, died Friday, October 30, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.
Born in Abilene, TX, he was a son of Bill Carter and Alene Thomas Carter.
Mr. Carter was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran and served in Vietnam.
Surviving are two daughters, Paige Carter and Ashley Carter both of Sumter; a brother, Larry Carter of Las Vegas, NV; and a sister, Donna Stevens of Dallas, TX.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating.
