Obituary of Charles LeGrand Baker
Charles LeGrand Baker, 80, died Friday, November 6, 2020, at the home of his sister. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late William Clyde Baker and Minnie Inez Mathis Burwood. Mr. Baker was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God Church and was a retired textile worker. He loved flying. He was a very good handyman and was considered a “jack of all trades”. Surviving are his daughter, Cheryl Lynne Baker of Hartsville; a sister, Sylvia Eloise Floyd of Sumter; one grandchild, Susan Michelle Kalpakci of Fountain Inn, SC; three great-grandchildren, Christian, Yasemin, Ada; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Moore and Ruth Floyd. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
