Homer J. Smith, 81, widower of Barbara J. Mounts Smith, died Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Oakleaf Village in Lexington, SC.
Born in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Robert H. Smith and Ada R. Gore Smith.
Mr. Smith was a U. S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He also retired from the U. S. Post Office.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Henkel (Louis) of Vine Grove, KY and Dianne Brazell (Eddie) of Chapin, SC; five grandchildren, Andrew Henkel of Chicago, Illinois, Captain Haley Spearman (USAFR) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Steven Henkel of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, 1Lt Swain Spearman (USAF) of Anchorage, Alaska, and Anthony Spearman, Jr. of Macon, Georgia; and five step-grandchildren, Gabriel Henkel (Lauren), of Aldie, Virginia, Tanner Brazell of Chapin, South Carolina, Carly Burns (Charles) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Evan Tucker of Chapin, South Carolina, and Isabella Brazell of Chapin, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, November 13, 2020, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating.
Burial will be in the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with military honors.
