Dorothy “Dot” B. Meeks, 95, widow of Wyatt Meeks, died Sunday, December 20, 2020 at The Elms Assisted Living Center in Lynchburg, VA.
Born in Pitt County, NC, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Lillian Martin Briley.
Mrs. Meeks was a member of First Baptist Church of Sumter. She retired from NBSC in Sumter and was a member of the American Bankers Association and the National Association of Investors. She was a member and former treasurer of the Sumter Elks Lodge and a member and past President of the Sumter Pilot Club.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas J. Meeks (Beverly) of Rockledge, FL and Gary Meeks (Sally) of Lynchburg, VA; a sister, Gaynell Lewis of Bethel, NC; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Meeks; two sisters, Irene Harris and Nannette Everett and two brothers, Dennis Briley and Thomas Briley.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 28, 2020 in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. R. L. “Bob” Calvert officiating.
