Jessie H. Cecil, 90, husband of Janet Plowden Cecil, died Thursday, January 8, 2021 at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born October 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Eunice and Bill Cecil of Steele, MO.
He retired from the US Air Force in 1968, Commercial Credit Corporation in 1990 and Crystal Lakes Golf Course.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years of Sumter; Children: Linda (John) Knight of Sumter and Les (Angel) Martel of Fleming Island, FL. Grandchildren: Shane (Mallory) Knight of Spartanburg, SC; Kristen (Jonathan) File of Spartanburg, SC; Melayna, Derek and Becky Martel of Jacksonville, FL; Great Grandchildren: Samuel, Sloane and Savannah Knight of Spartanburg, SC. Brothers: Freddie Cecil of Poplar Bluff, MO; Barry Cecil of Campbell, MO and Dean Cecil of Campbell, MO; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters; Bernice Miller, Marie Nace and Billie Wigglesworth; one brother, Jimmie Cecil; and two step-brothers, Claude and Lawrence Flowers.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
