Obituary of Ike Brunson, Jr.
Please share a memory of Ike to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Isaac William “Ike” Brunson, Jr., 66, husband of 46 years to Sandra Hope Baker Brunson, died Monday, January 18, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
Born in Alcolu, he was a son of the late Isaac William Brunson, Sr. and Eleanor Robosson Brunson.
Mr. Brunson was a member of Zoar Church and attended North Greenville College. He enjoyed working with the Salkehatchie summer service for 17 years in Bishopville and Orangeburg. A retired self-employed contractor by trade, he used his talent and enjoyed building and fixing things. When he got to a point where he could no longer do it, he gave “directions” on how to do it. He loved to go to yard sales and simply “plunder”. He was an avid reader. He always liked to joke.
A devoted family man, Ike loved his wife, children, grandchildren, family and his dog “Oreo”. A true outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed riding and taking in the beautiful scenery that God created with His hands.
Surviving are two sons, Isaac “Ikey” William Brunson, III (Monica) and Brent Brunson (Katie); three sisters, Ann Burnette (Danny), Linda Brunson, and Robin Dykhuizen (Henry); four grandchildren, Molly Brunson, Trent Brunson, Lawson Brunson, and Jackson Brunson; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary K. Herbert.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday in the Brunson Cemetery with Rev. Tony Griffin officiating.
The family will receive friends at his home.
