John Dewayne Copeland, 61, died Monday, February 8, 2021 at National Healthcare Center.
Born in Louisville, KY, he was a son of John L. Copeland, Jr. and Dorothy Gividen Day.
John loved music especially the rock group KISS and he never met a stranger.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, Shirley Copeland; along with his mother; a brother, Jack William Copeland (Michell); a sister, Suzanne Horton (Glenn) all of Sumter; two nieces, Stephanie Hrisko (Bill) and Stacey Gregory (Josh); a nephew, Garrett Horton.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. J. D. Putman officiating.
The family would like to thank the United Cerebral Palsy Group and their entire staff and also the staff at NHC Sumter for their loving care of John.
