Emily was definitely special to her twin sister, Frances Craig. They enjoyed seeing and visiting each other at least once a month while Emily was confined to Presbyterian Community Home. Before that Emily and Tommy would meet us at The Front Porch in Chester several times and Tommy always enjoyed ordering his usual lunch, grilled pork chops with pinto beans and fried squash. One remembrance was close to Emily and Frances's birthday we brought a chocolate cake and I remember Emily and Frances cutting the cake together that day. Emily remarked to us how good the cake was!
While celebrating their 85th birthday, both families were joined together on a Saturday in September 2008, at Tommy and Emily's Retirement Home Clubhouse. Everyone had a good time celebrating both Emily and Frances's birthday together that day. Both Emily and Frances enjoyed talking about the good times over the years and was glad they were able to enjoy their 85th birthday together again. They had not had a previous birthday celebration since they were 5 years old. At that particular birthday, everyone they invited took over their birthday and it was hard for Emily and Frances to actually remember celebrating their birthday at that young age. Or even getting to do some things they wanted to do, because everyone else completely acted like it was their birthday instead of Emily and Frances's.
Even though Emily was not able to get out and about, she still enjoyed seeing Frances, her twin. When we would walk into the facility where Emily was sitting, her face and eyes would like up and she was beaming with gladness because she was so appreciative of our visit(s). She could remember our names and recognized us as family to her. We could always get her to smile and join in conversation. We are all so thankful for these moments that we had with Emily and were happy times too. We are so grateful that Emily loved Frances's visits and they both showed each other that they had a unique bond together when twins are together for a long time. They endured 93 years together which we are eternally grateful for.
Even though Frances Craig has lost her twin sister, Emily Thompson, she has gained so much by touching her life in so many ways when Emily was alive. Just like Emily touched our lives likewise over the years. We know that Emily is in heaven with Tommy once again after being without Tommy for nearly 4 years. They are once again together in heaven.
With great sorrow for the entire family of Emily Thompson, in losing a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. May God wrap his loving arms around all of you and comfort you through this sad time. May God shed his light on all of you and give you the strength to carry on together as Emily and Tommy would have wanted you all to do.

Dear Family,
I am very sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincerest condolences and some words of comfort from God's Word, the Bible.
Because our loving Creator did not intend for us to die, he promises to reunite us with our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. (Hosea 13:14; Titus 1:2) Knowing you will see your dear Emily again will hopefully bring you some comfort during your moment of loss.
Our merciful God, Jehovah, will also give you the strength to endure this difficult time. (Psalms 55:22; 83:18; 121:1-3) So, please rely fully upon "the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials." (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4) I will also include you in my prayers.
