Obituary of Bettie Ann Klapthor

Bettie Ann Booth Klapthor, 96, widow of John Cornelius (Casey) Klapthor of Sumter, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Covenant Place. Born December 18,1924 she was a daughter of John Phillip Booth, Jr. and Hascal “Hassie” Francena Parrot Booth. Bettie Ann attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO. She married John Cornelius (Casey) Klapthor on June 3, 1944. Bettie Ann was known and loved by her family and friends for how well she loved all of them. She had a deep abiding faith in Jesus, her best friend, and enjoyed sharing this with whoever would listen. She is survived by one brother, John Phillip Booth, III; four children and their spouses: Neil J. Klapthor and wife Patricia, of Evans, GA, Lauren B. Klapthor and wife Merrill, of Charlotte, NC, Barbara K. Hornsby and husband J. Larry, of Evans, GA, Elizabeth Ann Beaty and husband, Robert H., of Sumter, SC; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, April 24, 2021, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Peake officiating.
