Obituary of Thomas Awan Turbeville

Thomas Awan Turbeville, 84, husband of Catherine “Cathy” Buckner Turbeville, died Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at his home. Born in Turbeville, he was a son of the late Leon Turbeville and Marie Bramlette Turbeville. Mr. Turbeville was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. He was a retired butcher at Piggly Wiggly. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; a son, Joel Turbeville (Trish) of Sumter; three daughters, Charlene DeLorenzi (Scott) of Maryland, Lorrie Welch (Ingram) of Elgin and Teresa Arrison (Philip) of Orlando, FL; a brother, Michael Turbeville (Deborah) of Seabring, FL; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Turbeville; a sister, Betty Reynolds; two brothers, Teddy Turbeville and Robert Turbeville. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Chaplain Allen Lynch officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Turbeville. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Friday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O.
