Obituary of Joseph John Vasura

Joseph John Vasura, 83, husband of 22 years of Vivian Margaret Vasura, died Thursday, May 13, 2021, at The Magnolias of Santee. Born in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph Francis Vasura and Anna Mae Tobin Vasura. Mr. Vasura was a U. S. Air Force veteran and retired from Gold Kist. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a deacon, Sunday School teacher and played the accordian at the church. He was twice married, first to the late Lois Ann Geddings Vasura for 39 years. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; a son, Joseph Stanley Vasura of Sumter; a daughter, Cynthia Vasura of Chesterfield, SC; three step-children, Bill Green of Plano, TX; Mike Green of Hoover, AL and Debra Thomas of Atlanta, GA; a brother, John Joseph Vasura and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne McElveen officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
