Obituary of Richard A. Mey

Richard A. Mey, 84, widower of Judith Ann Laughlin Mey, died Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was a son of the late George Mey and Elizabeth Domme Mey Jones. Mr. Mey was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a retired supervisor with Crucible Steel Company in Midlands, PA and Slater Steel Company in Ft. Wayne, IN. Surviving are three daughters, Joni Collins (Brad) of Chester, WV;, Cathy Jo Cuttino (Tom) of Sumter; Cari A. Mader (Kevin Zies) of Ft. Wayne, IN; two sons, Richard D. Mey (Leslie) of Churubsco, IN and Jack Roush of Sumter; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, Kurt Mey (Jaula) of St. Louis, MO, Mark Mey (Diane) of Wheeling, WV; and a sister, Rochelle Baker (Paul) of Bridgeport, OH. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Mey and Robert Mey. Memorial Services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, June 3, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Josie Holler officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at 1080 Waterway Drive, Sumter.
