Obituary of Margaret Gainey Kirven

Margaret Gainey Kirven, 91, widow of James Richard Kirven, Sr., died Sunday, May 30, 2021, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Born in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy Gainey and Amy Hendrix Gainey. Mrs. Kirven was retired from Korn Industries. She was the strong, loving matriarch of her family and was always there to listen and share her wisdom and advice. Surviving are a son, James R. Kirven, Jr.; a daughter, Patricia Chavis; four grandchildren, Amy Kirven Meeks (adopted daughter), David W. Beck, Jamie N. Sereg, and Meghan Grantham; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Jack Gainey, D. L. Gainey, Robert Gainey, Harvey Gainey, Sr., James Gainey, Ervin Gainey; a sister, Shelby Dollard; and a grandchild, George Beck, Jr. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
